Zeleke Agricultural Mechanization

Zeleke Agricultural Mechanization was established to make use of the huge land potential available for mechanized farming to the economic and social development of the region and also with an aim to transform the region’s agriculture through the introduction of modern farming techniques. It has already started to operate (Kobo, North Wollo Zone) a large irrigation scheme on 150 hectares of land with water supplied from two deep-wells. Zeleke Agricultural Mechanization also operates in Kota (Benishangul Gumuz Region) on 10,000 hectares of land suitable for mechanized farming secured from the regional state. It has planned to expand its mechanized farming by acquiring additional farmland in the other parts of the Amhara Region.
